Problem with Transmit Returns Now button, TT remains on same screen, never transmits returns

This morning, 3/18/22, I downloaded the latest update.

Checked all the numbers, the Schedule B, the Foreign Tax carry-over… no errors, no missing numbers.  Everything looked good.

Saved pdf copies, saved return – then went to e-file.

Entered in Verification information;
Paid the $25 for e-filing my State (Indiana).

Clicked to “Transmit Returns Now”   …. All looks good.  Says ‘Transmitting Returns’

BUT then Turbo Tax stays on the page, with the “Transmit Returns Now”  button still active.  Nothing was sent!  Waited 3-5 minutes, clicked the “Transmit Returns Now” button again, no change.
Still on the same screen, still with the button active.

Called Tech Support – shared screens, clicked “Transmit Returns Now” button again… no change.  Agent had me clear cache; I even suggested and did a full reboot.  Tried again, nothing.

At which point the Agent said ‘sorry, you’ll have to print out and mail your returns’.

This is unacceptable, and I told the agent I felt a refund should be due.  The reason everyone buys Turbo Tax is to electronically file their taxes.  The agent agreed and sent me a form to request my refund.  Not only am I due to the cost of the program, I am also due the $25 State (Indiana) filing fee, as nothing was electronically filed;
AND
Should I not be owed the cost to mail my returns, Certified Mail? I think so.... $69+25+postage

    Should we not be asking for refunds?

    I’m sure your office is getting inundated with similar issues from other users. So, I’m a bit sorry to be adding and compounding your issues.

    I’ve already completed the process to request a refund, but I believe the on-line refund process to be lacking.  And I’m doubtful this email will change that.

    My refund request is for $94.99 and I included the proper verification (copies of my receipts)
    This consists of a Costco receipt for $69.99 and an Intuit Receipt for $25, for my State e-filing fee.

    Where I feel this amount is lacking, is in the Postage I now must pay.  As my return is 44 pages, postage is as follows:
    $2.36 for large envelope, 7 ounces
    $3.75 for Certified
    $6.11

    $6.11 x 2 (Federal & State) = $12.22

    $69.99   Turbo Tax software, bought at Costco (license code included in refund request form)
    $25.00  State e-file fee, I was never able to e-file.
    $12.22 for Postage, that should have been zero if Turbo Tax worked as intended.

    $107.21           Total Refund requested, minimum

    And of course, this doesn’t include anything for my time wasted, time spent with your Customer Service, etc.  (Priceless)
    At the very least, in addition to my Refund of $107.21, Intuit should offer codes to be used for 2022 taxes, next year.  Without receiving such a coupon code / voucher / etc, I will most definitely be looking for alternative Tax Preparation software for next year.

    I was able to file in Two Steps...

    e-file, when you get to the page to Transmit Returns, and you see both FED and Indiana are checked, UNcheck Indiana... then continue with FED only.
    It ought to then e-File the FED only.  Wait 40-60 minutes, Fed will be approved; then try Indiana only and that's how I got to work.
    Tech support was no help

    Thank you.  This also worked for me.  Send the federal tax by itself.
