I was almost ready to e-file Fed and State at the same time using the desktop version of TT Home & Business 2024. I was literally on the screen with the orange Submit button. I had an amount due to my state (Oregon) that didn't look right, so I went back and added some information to my state return which changed my tax due to a small refund. I ran the error checker again, and everything looked good. The e-filing proceeded fine for the Fed return, but my state return was rejected because Turbotax provided "direct debit" info when it shouldn't have. This seems to be a bug. Now TT says I have to file my state by mail. Please fix this for next year!
A general piece of feedback, also, from someone who has been using TurboTax since the mid-90's. It's all fine and good to make the user interface look nicer, and add explanations, but this should not be done at the expense of adequately testing your software before the tax filing season. You seriously need to hire humans to test the software. AI and programs do not act like real humans and do not find these errors. Thanks.
