Preparing taxes for another person

I do my mother's taxes and have done them manually before now. I am her POA and manage her finances. This new Turbotax account is under my name since my mother doesn't have email or a credit card. If I'm not using the account for my taxes, can I still do hers on this account since it will be the only one done? Is there anything I should do to avoid confusion or problems later on?

Yes, you can do hers on the same account. That will be the email address used to notify you of e-file status, etc. There shouldn't be any confusions later on.

Note that, if you wanted, on the Create Your Account screen, you can set up a new login for another return:

  • You can reuse your email address if you want to receive e-file notifications for the second return.
  • Up to 5 accounts can be tied to the same email address.
