Poll Compensation

I worked as a poll worker for Hillsborough County Florida and earned $1035 for the year. The county sent me a W2 stating "Your Gross pay was adjusted as follows to produce your W2 Statement" Gross Pay $1035, Less Misc. Non Taxable Comp $1035. Reported W2 Wages 0.00 . All boxes of the W2 are blank. Do I need to report this income as other income?

Poll Compensation

Yes, you would report the Hillsborough County Florida  poll income as other income on your federal return if the wages in Box 1 of the W-2 is zero.

However, if the income is in box 1, then report the income in the W-2 section.

  1. Open your TurboTax return
  2. Select Income > Scroll to Less Common Income > Select Miscellaneous Income, 1099-A, 1099-C
  3. Scroll to Other reportable income > Enter your income and description
