pleas fix the bug for Virginia non-resident tax file

I file 2023 federal as married jointly.  both I and my spouse are non-resident of Virginia and we both have income but only I have Virginia non-wage income.  I should file Virginia as non resident and married but file separately.  However, TurboTax 2023 premier only have "married file jointly" and "married but spouse have no income".  please add "married but file separately" function as soon as possible.

You are correct. The combination of a joint federal return and a separate VA state return is not available in TurboTax online products. TurboTax cannot accurately separate out the various income sources and deductions from a joint federal return to flow to a separate return.

You must create a separate federal return with only your income/deductions in order to flow into a separate state return. You can do this easily in a TurboTax desktop product.

You would create and file a joint federal return and in the same product create a "Mock" separate federal return with only your income/deductions.  From that "Mock" separate return a separate VA state return can be created.  Since the "Mock" separate federal return will not be filed, you will need to print/mail the separate VA return.

Here is a link with more details on the process.
