My son is 18 and filing taxes for the 1st time. His taxes keep getting rejected for not having a PI Pen number. He has never applied for this and does not have one. What do we do?

See this about lost IP PIN
It’s not lost. He is 18 and have never filed taxes, never reported an identify theft, and never applied for a pin. We have no idea why it’s being rejected and asking for one

It’s not lost. The IRS says he has one and you do not know the number.
have never filed taxes The IRS says he has and used an IP PIN.
never reported an identify theft Now you should think it may have happened.
