When did you file the extension? You had to file an extension for 2018 no later than April 15, 2019.

Here's how to enter the amount you paid with an extension in the CD/Download TurboTax software for 2018.

    • In TurboTax Home & Business click the Personal Tab. In other editions click the Federal Taxes tab.
    • Click Deductions & Credits.
    • Click "I'll choose what I work on."
    • On the screen "Your 2018 Deductions & Credits" scroll down to the section "Estimates and Other Taxes Paid."
    • Click the Start or Update button for "Other Income Taxes."
    • Click the Start or Update button for "Payment with 2018 federal extension" or "Payment with 2018 state extension" as appropriate.
