Payment error Whoops! We hit a snag loading your data. Please try again.

This is a general technical error that can pop up during the payment step in TurboTax Online. Here are a few things to try:

 

  1. Refresh the page and try again. 
  2. Clear your browser's cache and cookies, then log back in to TurboTax and retry the payment.
  3. Try a different browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari) or switch to a private/incognito window.
  4. Check your billing address.  If the address on your credit card doesn't match what's entered in TurboTax, the payment can fail. Make sure they match exactly.
  5. If you have a non-U.S. address anywhere in your return (such as a foreign address in the My Info section), try temporarily changing it to a U.S. address, complete the payment, and then update it back.
