Payment authorization error

Has anyone seen this before (see attached screenshot)? When I try to e‑file my California state return, I get a payment authorization error. I’ve confirmed that my billing address, card number, and CVV are all correct, and I’ve also tried three different credit cards with the same result.

Now, I am late with the filing. It would be great if they offer an additional payment option, such as PayPal, etc. Or like, why can't they bill me separately and just let me file? This is ridiculous!

It's annoying, yes. Most likely failed either the transaction processor (on intuit's back end); or either the zip code or the "name as shown on card" didn't exactly match.
I always try to use ALL CAPS when entering name as shown on card, also include any middle initial or title or suffix, if on the card.

Agree, Intuit should allow other payment means such as Zelle, Venmo, Paypa, etc., for the filing feel. I second the request 🙂

Give IRS a call in the morning, most likely they'll be very forgiving and understanding. Perhaps also set up and use your official irs.gov account (id.me best); it's a bit laborious through identification verification process but it's very powerful and helpful to make balance payments, payment plans, check official data, etc.; can also check SSA activity in real time, too.

Make sure you have no special characters in your address (Apt. 19, not #19, for instance) and that your Billing Address and return address match.  Try clicking around a bit and returning to this screen to retry.   Sometimes it's a bad connection (you're going to a Billing server).  You can try turning off your anti-virus programs.

Otherwise, you can Contact TurboTax Support to report a 'blocked payment issue'.
