Overtime filing

I filed my taxes on the first date allowed 1/26/26 before the overtime input was added to Turbo Tax. Do I have to do an amendment? My return is currently being held for "verification"  by the IRS and I'm wondering if that is the issue.

Since your return has not been fully processed by the IRS, you should wait before doing anything.  It is possible that your return is being held for something related to the overtime deduction or something else entirely. 

Either way, filing an amended return before your return has been processed would only delay the situation with the IRS.  After you receive your original refund and you know the reason for the delay, then you can assess whether an amended return is needed.
