Used Turbo Tax to pay Missouri, but then Turbo Tax said to go to Missouri website to pay.   I ended up paying Missouri TWICE!    How can I get my overpayment back?

Since you accidentally paid the state twice contact them to see how to get the excess payment refunded.

Thanks.   I did that.   Just wanted fellow Turbo Tax users to be wary of "duplicate" payments.  It was somewhat confusing when I got to the end for e-filing.

@Tom181

Yeah, there was a long thread somewhere in here earlier this year, where MO just started allowing tax due payments to be arranged along WITH the E-filed MO tax returns at the end of February....which was (foolishly) implemented by MO, right in the middle of the tax season, when the tax software had already been finalized.  That resulted in a number of mix-ups in the weeks which followed about how to properly pay the taxes owed, since MO had never allowed that payment method before, and had always required folks to either pay by check, or use the MO tax payment website.

 (Don't know if the tax software has the payment methods cleared up perfectly now, or not for any new MO tax filings)

It appears that Turbotax has not fixed this for my Missouri state taxes for 2022. It did ask me to pay via check or credit card which I did and entered my bank information. Then when I e-filed my taxes it asked me to print out a tax form which is the Missouri payment voucher.

I was about to pay Missouri taxes again when I looked at my turbo tax return which clearly states I have set it up to pay via my checking account already...

thanks for posting this so I can avoid double paying.
