In Other Income Taxes Paid , the program is determined to assign $65,676 to State Mandatory Taxes, and it won't allow me to say that I never asked for an extension nor pay later. This is a new issue, and it is increasing my federal tax liability. Very confusing. I must fix today!

We'd love to help you complete your tax return, but need more information. Can you please clarify your question?
At first, I thought I would be getting a rebate in my taxes, as I have for several years. We made less money this year, and contributed more than before. But when I saw that we had a large tax due, I looked for something that was new, and I found it in the form I referenced earlier. But after several days had gone by, I gave up waiting for your help, and decided to go ahead and file before I got penalized for a late return. But that also failed. I am receiving a message from Turbo Tax that my wife's AGI doesn't match what the 2022 tax reported. However, I have repeatedly checked that, and found it accurate. So I don't know what the hang up is, and now I fear I will have to pay for filing late. I sure hope you get back to me today. I am worn out with this whole thing, and becoming totally disillusioned with Turbo tax.

Catalina, Thanks for your advice! I decided to call the IRS, and was on the phone for two hours.
A very patient agent of IRS did some digging and determined that they never received our 2022 documents, and so they have no records upon which to complete our 2023 taxes. I definitely completed my 2022 taxes, and I am trying to see if Turbo Tax ever received them. Is this something you can find out for me? If so, then can I move forward on filing both with you?
In addition, if you did not receive it, is it too late to send it to Turbo Tax for electronic processing, which would be the quickest. If not, then I will have to print both returns and mail the whole thing in, which will take quite a long time.
One more question: can you cover me for filing late? I filed the first time on April 14th, if memory serves.
Again, thanks for your help. We finally have a breakthrough, and I am worn out!

Your best option is to contact TurboTax Support. The phone agents have the ability to look up your e-filing records from last year to see what happened. They can also address your other questions about fees and filing again (if needed). No one on this forum can answer these questions for you.
