Hi yes I don't want to do that. How do I sign up for the IRS account so they don't have to pull credit? I don't see that option. You were referring to something about verification by mail?
When I enrolled 2 years ago, I attempted the online verification, and when it failed, a message came up that the IRS would mail a verification code to me. If they have changed their procedures since then, you will have to find a way to work within their new procedure.
Ok, looks like I successfully enrolled b/c they only do a "soft" hit which the credit freeze does not prevent. Now that I'm in my account, I don't see any place though to opt-in for the efile PIN.
