why was I charged for a state tax return

    Are you using an online or desktop version?

     

    If it's online, you will be charged an additional $40 per one state return. 

    If it's the desktop, you should get a free state download.

    Program wants to charge me $44.99 each for the 2 states I need to do

    If you are using TurboTax online you will be charged for each state return.
