I’m doing the File for Free State tax. Why am I being charged a fee to file?

Ok, so, here's the jest of what is required to file using the 'Free Edition' of Turbo Tax, which is reserved for basic tax returns that have the following stipulations:

•Made less than $100,000
•Don't own a home or rental property
•Didn't sell investments
•Don't own a business or have 1099-MISC income
•Don't have any major medical expenses

Every other version has its respective benefit and fee. Please see the link below that compares all versions.

Also, You appear to be using Deluxe which is not free. Free only supports simple returns that can use the 1040EZ/A.   If your tax situation required the full 1040 then you cannot use free. If you accidentally upgraded, you can clear and start over in Free.
