I e-filed Federal but NY State return is getting rejected for e-file for this reason: "E-File is not available because your tax return includes a tax situation that can't be e-filed. Make sure to mail your return by your state's due date."

There are a number of tax situations that TurboTax does not offer support for. You have apparently added a form to your return that is not supported by TurboTax for electronic filing.
You can see the forms TurboTax does not support efile for here.
You will have to print your return out and mail it in.
I definitely didn't add a form and looking through that list, to be sure, I can confirm that I didn't.
I have seen people have this same problem in year's past and it was a TT bug, but past year's corrections seemingly don't apply to this year.
Then go to tax tools and then click on tools and then click on "delete a form".
Go through the list of forms there and see which one has been added to your return that isn't necessary and try to delete it.
If it immediately comes back then you'll need to delete your New York return and start over.
The forms are generated based on your answers to the questions that the system asks. If you answer a question wrong the system immediately generates the form. If you change your answer the form may stay there until you delete it.
I am fine filing by mail but I went to print the return and got this message on a page within the return:
"New York State requires this income tax return to be filed electronically."
"New York State law requires income tax returns prepared using software to be e-filed. Because this New York
State tax return was prepared using software, you MUST file it electronically."
So, I try to file electronically and it tells me I have to file by mail. I try to file by mail and it tells me I have to file electronically. I feel stuck.
Please review the forms availability FAQ here, as if any of the forms are showing unavailable for e-file, they would need to be mailed.
Please clear your cache and delete your cookies before attempting to resubmit the e-file.
