Turbo Tax says that I cannot e-file my Michigan state tax return because it contains form 5889. State of Michigan says that they accept this form via e-file...but that some software (in this case Turbo Tax) may not allow e-file with some forms. Is Turbo Tax ever going to get their act together and allow e-filing with Michigan form 5889 (if so...when??)...or is this a permanent thing that I am going to have to file my state return via snail mail. If it is permanent...I may choose to use some other tax software next year!

I don't need to use form 5889 but Turbo Tax won't let me e-file either.
I've been e-filing with no problems for the past 10 years with Michigan Form 5889 EXCEPT for THIS YEAR!!!! This is absolutely ludicrous and very lazy on the part of TurboTax programming. So...in a nutshell, just because I got $14 in oil royalties in 2023, TurboTax is making me mail in my taxes to the State of Michigan.
Why? OH! Why? .... this isn't rocket science TurboTax Team!!!! Get it together and PLEASE make this right!!!!!
I know you can do it!!!! You've done it for the past 10 years....all you have to do is update your code.
