NJ - I received Short term disability. My ER gave me with a EOY pay statement showing Short Term Third Part Sick with the total paid by the state. How do i report this?

Should I have received a 1099-G for these payments?

No, you will not get a form 1099-G for temporary disability payments in NJ. The benefits paid will be reported on a form W2 in boxes 1 and 3 .  The recipient enters the form W2 in the Wages & Income section.

The amount of disability benefits will not be included in NJ box 16 on the form W2 as they are not taxable by the the state of NJ.

You can verify the W2 information with your employer, if you have any questions.

Here is a NJ state link for reference.
