I e-filed my NJ resident return on Thursday (4/14/2022) and as of this morning (4/18/2022) the status is still pending; in addition, the tax owing has not been taken from my account. Should I file a second copy my mail?

No, several states have slowed down in accepting returns. Pending is acceptable. If your return is rejected, you can still e-file again after the deadline for up to 5 days with it still being on time. Hopefully, your return will be accepted with no problems. Do not mail a second copy.
Basically have the same issue - NJ e-file return still pending after 5 days. Fereral and CA returns were accepted within a few hours. Using desktop TT, premier version. Should I send paper copy via USPS since today is filing deadline. Already sent tax due to NJ with voucher via USPS.
@mike950 No, there isn't any need to send a paper copy of the return. If it is accepted they are aware of how long it has been in line and they know that you filed on time. If it is rejected you have a grace period to resubmit. I am afraid that you just have to be patient.
NJ finally accepted the return one day after it was due and six days after it was submitted. So the advice not to also submit a paper copy proved correct. Thank you.
