My daughter was born on Dec 20th. She does not yet have an SSN.

Can I claim her as a dependent without the SSN?

If not, when I receive her SSN, can I modify my tax return this year if I submit it?

You cannot enter your child on your tax return without a social security number. You can file the return and later amend it when you get the social security number.
