New ssn after working undocumented

My spouse finally obtained legal status after years of filing with itin. Question is, if he worked 6 months before getting ssn how will he combine those w2's? Will he submit both? Or file 2 separate returns.  To clarify he would file with itin.

You must notify the IRS that the SSN has been received so the IRS can associate the SSN with the prior ITIN.

Yes, in August I sent a letter requedting to rescind his itin and we recieved confirmation that it was rescinded last week.
