@leannlovesjohn14 It is too late to import a 2017 W-2. You need to get a copy from your employer and enter it by hand. If you lost the copy provided to you in January you can try getting a free Wage and Income transcript from the IRS to show the federal income information that the employer gave to the IRS. However, it will not show the state information to help you with preparing your state income tax return. https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript
The other option is to pay the Social Security Administration $86 to get a copy of your W-2. https://www.irs.gov/help-resources/tools-faqs/faqs-for-individuals/frequently-asked-tax-questions-answers/irs-procedures/transcript-or-copy-of-form-w-2/transcript-or-copy-of-form-w-2
Further--in case you are not aware--it is too late to prepare your 2017 return using online TT. Online preparation and e-filing for 2017 is permanently closed. You need to purchase and download desktop software to prepare a 2017 return.https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/

If you are attempting to import your W-2, you can if your employer is a TurboTax Import Partner. Enter your employer’s EIN (Employer Identification number) and the software will determine it based off that.

To see if your employer is partnered with TurboTax follow these steps:

 • Sign in to your TurboTax account
 • Click on the Take me to my return button.
 • Click on the Federal Taxes tab (on the left menu bar)
 • Click on Continue, then Start
 • Click on Work on my W-2 now on the W-2 Screen.
 • Enter the 9-digit Employer ID Number if you have it and click Continue.

If your employer is a TurboTax partner, we will lead you through the steps to import your W-2. On the contrary, if your employer is not a TurboTax partner, or if you're otherwise unable to import your W-2.
