My wife is a US citizen but lived in Uganda, Africa all of 2023 as a missionary with no income. I worked in Wisconsin. How do I file with my spouse?

It says that I am ineligible for e-filing as taxpayers are residents of foreign country. Is this true as I worked all year in Wisconsin.

Your wife is not a resident of a foreign country, she is only temporarily away from her resident state of Wisconsin.

Go back to the My Info section and make sure you have entered your resident state as Wisconsin and edit your spouse's information to indicate she is a resident of Wisconsin, Not a Foreign Country.

Click on My Info on the left side of the online program screen.
