My wife has a SS#, but is in the Philipines. Does she need to sign our joint return?

I want to file a joint return, I have my wife's ss#, she is in the philipines. Does she have to sign the return?  Can I fax it to her to sign?

When you E-File the Signature is a Electronic Signature.  However if you Mail in your Return then yes she would need to sign the Forms.
