You can either get on your state website to see if there is a correct amount shown on your 1099G or you can just report it as it should be. Just be sure you have good records and can back up the numbers in case the IRS would happen to contact you to verify.

You should also contact the state, if it is not correct on their website, to get a corrected 1099-G.

Can I do anything about a partial disallowance received in the mail. It says we couldn’t verify the total federal withholding amount you reported on your tax return.
