My turbotax.exe file is missing from my computer and won't start. All information was previously entered and I don't want to lose it.

My turbotax.exe file is missing from my computer.  Turbo tax wants me to uninstall, but I don't want to lose any data inputed as the tax information was almost completed.  What do I need to do?

All of the tax return information that you entered is in the .tax2023 data file. Uninstalling TurboTax should not delete that file, but to play safe copy the file to another folder or to a removable USB flash drive as a backup.

After you reinstall TurboTax it might not automatically find the .tax2023 file for your tax return. If that happens, click the "Find a Tax File" link to navigate to the .tax2023 file and open it.
