My return was rejected because my agi didn’t match for 2019 but this is my first year filing last year my parents claimed me so it should be zero right?

Yes. If you didn't file a 2019 federal tax return (or you haven't filed one yet), enter 0 as your AGI.

  • If you enter $0 and you're still getting rejected, make sure your parents aren't claiming you as a dependent. See the requirements to be claimed as a dependent. Click here.

If you’ve tried everything and nothing works, you can still file a paper return by printing out copies of your federal and state returns and mailing them. We’ll include File by Mail Instructions on where to send your returns and what forms, if any, you need to include.

turbotax has a bullet or question : I didn't file last year.

try to find that , click appropriately and then try AGI = zero.

using someone else's AGI definitely won't work !
