My on line return submission was rejected so I mailed in the return. I chose direct deposit tax payment, but does that mean my direct deposit did not go through either ?

If you choose direct deposit and did NOT change that choice when you redid the FILE tab when you switched to a mailed in return then that should still be on the tax return ... save a PDF of the return and review the tax return and the filing instruction page for confirmation.

it can take 2 months or so to actually receive your refund.   

you can check your refund status here

but it can take about a month for your refund status to show up
