My mother is now disabled, I am going to file for head of household, I need to have a dependant, she claims my brother, do I need to claim them both?

My mom has always claimed my brother, but now she's disabled, do I have to claim them both or can she still claim my brother

A person who can be claimed as a dependent cannot claim a dependent of their own.   You need to determine if you can claim them both.

IRS interview to help determine who can be claimed:
