My husband and I file seperatly. I claim one son and he will claim our baby. Do I still add my baby as a dependent but select other parent claiming him or leave him off

You do not claim the child on your tax return that is being claimed by your spouse on their tax returm

Do you, your husband, and both children all live together? If not, there might be other considerations.

Yes we all live together. The only reason we file separately is because of my student loans. I know I the baby will not be my dependent. I jsut don’t know if when I fill this out, I should leave him 100% off or I add his info but hit the “other parent will claim”

thank you

Leave the baby off your tax return completely. Do not enter any information about the baby in your tax return.
