My girlfriend and I had a baby in 2016. She already claimed the child on her taxes for the year. Am I still required (or even allowed to?

If you lived together and your girlfriend has claimed the child as her dependent, you cannot claim the child.

If you do not live together, only the custodial parent can claim the child as a dependent.
