My first name was spelled wrong on my return

If you have not yet filed your tax return, you can make the correction by signing back into your Online account, click the orange button that says "Take me to my return." Go to Personal Info at the top and click to Edit it next to your name and make the correction..

If you have already filed your tax return you should be fine. The IRS will usually match the beginning letters of your last name with your Social Security Number. 

If rejected, you can make the correction by following the steps above.

If accepted, you would not need to make any changes you would just verify the spelling for accuracy on next year's tax return.
