Our personal identity information was stolen and I told TT that and answered all the questions. Since the credit card in question belonged to my wife and myself and I entered both our names. When I came to the business section I answered no to "was it stolen" and TT still wants me to choose at least one of us for business. We don't have a business.
I went back and deleted me from the personal section and now I don't even get a chance to answer no to the business question. I can't get by this. TT won't accept the correct answer.
What do I do? I would have had my taxes done by now, but for this stupid bug.

Your identity was not stolen, your credit card was stolen. Go back and tell the system that your identity was not stolen at all.
If your identity is stolen then someone else files a tax return using your name and social security number. In that instance the IRS issues you an identity protection PIN that has to be entered into your tax return in order for it to be filed.
This is not the case with your credit card which has been shut down and replaced.
I see what you’re saying but if someone got my CC number, don’t they also have enough to steal my identity? I’m going to do what you said, but if I really had a stolen identify TT would make it impossible for me to report it. Seems like a major bug to me.
