my tax return is basically complete but form 8812 cannot be deleted and it is not applicable.

HELP!

I've paid and am ready to go.  I tried removing it and thought it was gone because the red exclamation point disappeared and allowed me to continue to the exit. Now I'm completely stuck! It's very late, I've been doing this for 8 hours and I want to go to sleep. Please help me.

In 2021, everyone is being asked to confirm that they did not receive any Advanced Child Tax Credit payments even if they are not claiming any children on their return. To confirm you did not receive any advance payments:

  1. In the Federal section of your return, go to Deductions & Credits
  2. Scroll down to You and Your Family and click Revisit/Start next to Advance payments, Child and Other Dependent Tax Credits
  3. Click Continue
  4. Answer Let's start with where you spent the most time in 2021.
  5. Answer No to Did you receive any advance Child Tax Credit payments in 2021?

How do I get back into my form? I have paid and completed the transaction. /The only way I think I can even see it is in the file I saved; I don't think I will be able to re-enter the original documents.

I think I need someone to hook into my computer and walk me through this. Please help, I am very upset.

Thanks, db

Contact Us for someone to go through your computer with you. If you have any children, parents, other adults living with you that would qualify as a child or as an Other Dependent, the form is needed. See About Schedule 8812 (Form 1040), Additional Child Tax Credit.
