My total income for 2022 was a little over 101k. I lived and worked in Illinois Jan 1 through May 13, 2022. During that time, I had just under 60k of earned income. I then retired and moved to Ohio where I had no earned income but had Pension and SS income of 39k and interest income of 3k. I completed the Illinois return and entered the dates that I was a resident of that state. However, when I complete my state of Ohio tax return it says that I had Ohio taxable income of nearly 82k. How is that possible?

When entering your state tax returns, when multiple states are involved, you should enter your nonresidential state tax return first (IL).
Then enter your residential state tax return (OH).
It is recommended to prepare the nonresident state first, because your resident state will provide you a credit for the tax you pay to the nonresident state. By preparing the nonresident state first, TurboTax can transfer the credit information to your resident state to return.
To check your state return you can preview it by doing the following:
You can view your entire return before you e-file:

This helped, along with finding the worksheet that detailed the credit applied for the taxes paid in Illinois. Thank you!!
