In any case, are you sure you are entering the correct state abbreviation? You said "Jersey City NY" above. NY is the abbreviation for New York. I don't know anything about Jersey City, but if the address is in New Jersey, the abbreviation would be NJ. So check the address carefully to verify the state.
Anything wrong with the address can cause TurboTax to say "zip code invalid" even when the zip code is correct. So entering the wrong state abbreviation or wrong town (or misspelling it) can produce an invalid zip code error.
See if you can verify the address styling at the USPS zip code lookup tool.
w-2 or 1099 (B, INT, OID, DIV) - for 1099 all that's needed is the payor and the amount.
