How does TurboTax get away with not having basic forms (eg foreign tax credit) when HR Block has them? This is a con. Do you buy a car and find it won't go because a part is missing and think that's acceptable?

It may take longer for one form or another to show up in TurboTax for multiple reasons. Our goal is to provide you with the most accurate information possible. As part of this process, we communicate often with the taxing agencies.
For up-to-date status, refer your customer to the federal and state forms-availability articles.

State forms availability table for TurboTax individual (personal) tax products
If the form becomes available sooner than currently published on that Help Article, the article will be updated to provide the new availability date.

Form 4562, Depreciation and Amortization, is available in TurboTax. Go to Federal Individual Form Availability for the latest updates.
The IRS approves each software vendor's forms individually because the software programs are different. A form may be available at one company but still pending at the IRS for another company.
Thanks. While the list of forms says 4562 is available in TurboTax, when I try and complete rental property - assets I get this screen which says it is not.
You are correct that Form 4562 is available.
Since you are using TurboTax Online, try closing TurboTax, clearing your Cache and Cookies and re-opening the program.
It may help to clarify what type of depreciation you are reporting, since we can't see your return in this forum.
If this doesn't resolve your issue, please post again and we'll try to help.
