I received an interest payment from the Internal Revenue Service for a delay in sending the refund for my tax year 2019 income tax return. Because the interest was under $ 10.00, no 1099-INT was issued by the IRS.
Turbo Tax will not let me file the return until I provide an EIN for the payer, the IRS. I searched all over the IRS web site with no luck. I looked on line for at least 2 hours,. Again no luck. I tried calling the IRS several times over several days, but eventually one is told to call later.
I also tried the standard fake EIN of 99-9999999. Turbo Tax rejected it.
Do any of you happen to have a 1099-INT from the IRS or know the numberto enter so Turbo Tax will let me continue the return?
Thank You Very Much for helping. I do appreciate it.
If you have the form, it will be on the lower left hand side of this form.
We do not have the EIN for the IRS, only the IRS has this information.

I finally was able to find the Internal Revenue Service EIN (FEIN).
I'll post it here in case anyone else does not receive a 1099-INT and Turbo Tax refuses to file the return without it:
Internal Revenue Service
I hope this information helps someone else who is stuck.
PS: I found it interesting that the IRS page regarding these interest payments says that if the payment is under $10.00, no 1099-INT will be issued, BUT they do not supply the EIN.
