My wife and I were eligible to receive the 3rd stimulus check. We were actually not aware that a 3rd stimulus check was coming and it is possible it got tossed as junk mail. When I went online to the "Get My Payment" site it says it was sent to us in March for $2800 as we file jointly. We each also received Letter 6475 from the IRS that says we each got the payment of $1400. The problem is we never received the payment in either a check form which is most likely as we paper file or a direct deposit. We checked our bank accounts on the off chance it was direct deposited somehow even though we paper file and the IRS doesn't have our bank deposit info and we show no deposits for that amount at any time during 2021. I put in a paper trace request in January to the IRS using form 3911 as was suggested on their website as I could not get through to anyone on the phone at the IRS but have heard nothing back as yet. The problem is we are not sure what to do. We are filing using Turbo Tax but when it gets to the part asking if we got a letter 6475 saying we got our 3rd stimulus check and we answer yes and put the amount in the required box it shows us not getting that amount as a refund in our federal taxes. My question is, do we just answer no that we didn't receive it and Turbo Tax automatically does the Recovery Rebate even though the IRS sent us letters 6475 stating it was sent to us. We are 100% sure we never received it or it was accidently lost.

The IRS has sent the payment to you but you did not receive it. You aren't able to request the third stimulus payment via your 2021 tax return because the IRS would reject your return since they believe that you already received it.
You have requested a trace for the missing payment and may need to be very patient until you hear from the IRS about the third stimulus payment.
