Merrill Import

  • Same issue I can not import Merrill tax document 1099 int, 1099 div, or 1099 b into TurboTax. TurboTax says it’s a Merrill issue. Merrill says it’s a TTax issue. I keep getting a pop up after TTax tries to connect that say Try log on again. If you still have issues contact Merrill.
  • i have imported this data every year without issue. This year, nothing, and no help from either support group.

    You may need to enter the data manually.   You can use summary entries if you have many stock transactions.   See the link below for some options that may help.

    Dawn,

    I am afraid the solutions provided did not work.

    The import was not too large

    Merrill is a 1099 partner

    The import files were ready as of 2/1/2025

     

    The ultimate solution, although I do not understand why, was to change my Merrill password. Once I did this, the import worked fine.  My previous password worked in Merrill, but for some unknown reason when I used the same ID/Password in TurboTax, I could not log in..  Simply changing my password in my Merrill account and then attempting the import with the new password worked.

     

    Still not sure why.

     

    FYI, This took weeks of digging and multiple calls to both Merrill and TTax support representatives.  It would be valuable if this solution was suggested earlier or posted more prominently.

    Strange as it seems, I found that by changing my ML password it solved the issue.

    i do not know why since my current password worked fine on the ML site, but that’s what I did and then used the new password in TTac and voila!
