Medicare insurance

Medicare health insurance is not considered Obamacare. When going through the Health Insurance section, all you have to do is indicate that you have health insurance coverage all year (if applicable) and that you were not enrolled in other plans (such us Obamacare of Healthcare.gov plan).

You can deduct Medicare insurance premiums that you paid as your medical expenses; if they are listed on your form 1099-SSA, the program will automatically carry the numbers to the medical expenses section automatically. If they are not listed, you may use steps below for data entry:

  1. Federal Taxes
  2. Deductions and Credits
  3. Scroll down to Medical, select Medical Expenses, enter the total amount for all medical insurance premiums that you paid
