No update for me, still have 9001. Irs told me they sent a letter.

Some people have been waiting weeks for a letter, it's ridiculous.

I still have the tax topic 152 which would be fine but the simple fact it has the 9001 code. When I was told about the letter, The gentleman from TurboTax said The IRS doesn’t usually tell you about any letters. I have seen so many articles about this, I’m just hoping the lady was just full of sh*t! Lol

I know that's the truth the IRS don't know what kind of hardship people are dealing with waiting on there refund

The guy from IRS that I spoke to last week definitely told me they sent a letter. I'm in a Facebook tax group and many are receiving ID verification letters, while others are updating to a delayed status. Idk the irs lingo really but 9001 doesn't appear to be a good thing at all.

i can not get through to speak with anyone, i guess everyone is at there 21day mark and are calling in, the automated system stated to call back wednesday or thursday

If they are going to send out a high volume negative status in wmr and high volume of letters, they should have high volume staff to handle the high volume calls that will obviously be made.
