Massachusetts (MA) State Tax

I earned only a bonus in MA paid in 2024. I did not live or work in MA in 2024. Do I need to file MA non-resident form or not? The MA portion on my W2 is showing $2345 under wages and MA state income tax paid is $117. If yes, do I deduct $2345 from my box 1 total wages to figure out MA tax?

If the bonus is based in whole or part to work performed in Massachusetts, you would have to file a nonresident Massachusetts income tax return.  You will not adjust your Box 1 wages, but TurboTax will calculate the percentage of Massachusetts income and apply it to the tax due.
