Can you clarify why you are entering sales tax?  (It is for use tax or deductions, etc?) @tarbo41

Because I paid $2400 in sales tax for 2021...without sales tax my return is saying I owe Mass Tax of $451

You will not enter this on your Massachusetts state return.  It is enter in the federal return under federal>deductions and credits>estimates and other taxes>sales tax paid. The information is then populated into your Massachusetts state return once you begin working on the return.

Keep in mind, sales taxes are itemized deductions and if are unable to itemize deductions on both federal and state returns, then sales taxes are not deductible.
