Maryland return form asks "amount paid," but does not state if that means total paid so far since it was purchased, or the amount paid in the tax year, or what.
Turbotax tells me that this Maryland adjustment "can only be taken once," but I have no idea if I have taken it in the past, and have no way of finding out.
I am a part-year resident. If I have not taken this credit in the past (which I have no way of knowing), would it be better for me to wait for next year when I will have been a full-year resident?

did you buy a one-time premium policy or making monthly payments?
amount paid means amount paid in the 2019 calendar year
That doesn't answer my question, which I repeat:
I am a part-year resident. If I have not taken this credit in the past, would it be better for me to wait for next year when I will have been a full-year resident?
