When a couple file Married filing Separately, each spouse will file a separate tax return.
TurboTax does not create two returns.
You have to start two separate returns.
If all the joint information is inputted and coded for each taxpayer, why cant the software split the information and produce two returns. Why is it necessary to start a whole new return for the spouse when the software has all the information assigned to both parties separately.
Intuit ProSeries does provide tax professionals the option to split the MFJ return into 2 MFS returns. TurboTax is intended to be personal tax preparation software for individuals to prepare their own returns. Click here for more information on ProSeries.
