“Married Filed Separately”or “legally separated” or “Single”?

Nebraska. We have not complete a separation or divorce yet. My understanding is that the state of MA you do not have to get court permission to live apart from your spouse. If I select the option “Married Filed Separately” the Turbo Tax system asks me for my wife’s incomes which I do not know and I do not have access to that information.
Should I file as “legally separated” or “Single” instead?
Thanks

See this answer. You could only file as single if you have a legal separation agreement.
