When using Turbotax installed on your computer, your tax returns are contained in data files located on your computer (like word processing files). The default name is something like "John Smith 2022.tax2022" and the default location is your documents folder, although you might have saved them someplace else. The data files are saved separately from the application.
If you install Turbotax on a different computer (Mac or PC) and then move your data files using a flash drive, network service, or similar, your data files should open on the new computer. Note that you will need to install any state modules that you used for your tax returns, the file probably won't open if you only install the base federal version.
When you use Turbotax Desktop version on your own computers, Turbotax does not keep backup copies of your data, you are responsible for your own data security and backups.
Are all of my previous data entries stored online?
No, none of your data entries or files are stored online by Intuit if you're using a desktop product.
