Lost Tax Filing

I received notification from IRS that they did not receive my 2024 filing which was submitted via Turbo Tax March 1, 2025. Checking my TT account, which shows a filing was completed, I printed the 1040 forms from the site and have now mailed a copy of the paperwork by Certified Mail / Return Receipt to IRS. I've been unable to get a response from Turbo Tax customer service (I use the term loosely) to enquire why the taxes were not officially filed.

Paying your fees did not file your tax return.  If you did not go all the way through the FILE section and click a big orange  button that said "Transmit my returns now" ---then you did not e-file.   Or.....maybe the e-file was rejected and you did not notice.

That being said, the only way to file 2024 now is by mail, and apparently you have just done that.  Allow several weeks and then you can track your refund on the IRS refund site.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2024 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

    To track your state refund:

What exactly dies your Turbo Tax account say?  Maybe it rejected.

When you efile you get back 2 emails.  The first email only confirms the transmission.  The second email says if the IRS (or state) Accepted or Rejected your efile.  And check your spam folder for them.

When you log into your account you should also see the status and if it was Accepted or Rejected, Started, Printed, Ready to Mail, etc.  What does it say?
