The requirement for a valid state ID is a security precaution to reduce income tax fraud. You may find that even if you make a new turbo tax account or go to another tax provider, that you will be unable to e-file if you don’t have a valid state ID.
Regarding your account lockout, you will have to call customer service. They have an account recovery program, it will probably require that you fax some proof of ID into them and it may take several days to restore your account.This just points out the importance of keeping your contact information including cell phone numbers up-to-date.
